Dear Friends,

On behalf of the entire Byrne for Alabama campaign team, I want to thank you for your hard work, support and friendship. For each of us, the past year has been an amazing journey that would only have been possible with your prayers, encouragement and generosity.

Not only has it been a privilege to share with you a vision of what we know our state can be, but it has been a real honor to work with so many dedicated Alabamians who are committed to securing the kind of future our children and grandchildren deserve. As I told our campaign staff at the close of a disappointing evening on July 13th, we were truly blessed to have had the greatest supporters and volunteers that could ever have been assembled in a single campaign.

I was honored every day by the character and sincerity of those who threw their support wholeheartedly behind our campaign and joined us on our mission for a better Alabama. Rebecca and I, and our children, are grateful for having had this experience. Your involvement and support has strengthened our love for Alabama and affirmed our belief that it is the people of this state that make it such a unique and special place.

The result of the run-off election was not for lack of effort. The degree of special interest money and manipulation used to keep my conservative reform agenda from rocking the status quo in Montgomery exemplifies that which I am committed to changing.

I consider our work of the past year only a beginning. The prospect of achieving real reform and honest government in Alabama may have been delayed, but it has not been defeated. I believe deeply in this State, and in our ability to rise above the divisive politics of the past that have held us back year after year. That's why I won't back down. I intend to remain a strong advocate for government reform and to keep the door open to future political opportunities that will allow us, once and for all, to bring transformational change to Alabama.

But, for now, it's time to move forward with confidence, keeping an eye on the vision we share, and knowing that God’s hand is at work in determining our future and the future for Alabama. As we go our separate ways and look to the opportunities ahead, all of us at Byrne for Alabama thank you again for your support, and wish you all the very best.

Sincerely,
Bradley Byrne
