New 30-second spot emphasizes Byrne’s proven leadership and successful conservative reforms

MONTGOMERY – February 7, 2010 – The campaign for Republican governor candidate Bradley Byrne today released a new television commercial that focuses on Byrne’s commitment to conservative principles on economic issues, including his pledge not to raise taxes and his documented know-how in cutting wasteful spending. The ad, which is entitled “Governor” and features Byrne talking directly to viewers, also emphasizes the candidate’s success in standing up to powerful special interest groups and his proven ability to forge conservative reforms.

Bradley Byrne is a proven Conservative and a reform-minded Republican who has fought for education excellence and government integrity throughout his career in public service. Byrne served two terms on the Alabama Board of Education prior to his election and re-election to the Alabama Senate. During his second term as a hard-nosed reformer in the Senate, Byrne was named Chancellor of Alabama’s troubled two-year college system, where he cleaned up an entrenched culture of corruption, enforced new accountability systems, strengthened Alabama’s work force development system, and cut millions in wasteful spending. As governor, Byrne will continue to fight for education reform, robust job creation and government accountability. And, when pressed by those who oppose him, Bradley Byrne will not back down.
